It's a Saturday. After days of rain, there is a bit of a break in the storm. Everything is cool and crisp. What a great time to go on a walk. And that is just what happened. Of course being spunky at heart my mind drifted to all things Spunky Software. I started thinking about richexclaim's "Pun Duck" website. If that doesn't ring a bell, you REALLY need to catch up. Read Crowd Sourcing in Action: Pun Duck Animation Part 1 and you will be "in" on this inside conversation ;) Well, as a reminder from Rich's concept page (which you can find here at the temporary Pun Duck concept site) there is a section called "The Joke Machine" I got to thinking, what would a joke machine do? This image of some giant machine came into my head. I would flip a few switches and push a button to go and a joke would pop out at the end. AND since it was a joke machine I would probably just sit and play with it all day, trying different combinations. To keep the momentum going on richexclaim's idea, I thought I would make one piece of the joke machine I saw in my head. This element is more mechanical: Some other more mechanical type pieces come to mind (switches and buttons) but only a few pieces that are wild, crazy and wacky. Myself and the rest of the spunky software crew want to make more of these wacky pieces like in the Rube Goldberg cartoon on the concept page. (If you don't know about Rube Goldberg, check out the Rube Goldberg Wikipedia Article or the Official Rube Goldberg Site) If you have any ideas on wild, crazy or wacky elements for the joke machine, we'll take your suggestions over at the Pun Duck Discussion Thread. |

The folks at Spunky Software are always debating which decision to make. Should we have pizza for lunch? Do we spend too much time coding? Does anyone really care? Well, since a real magic 8 ball was too cumbersome to carry around, we made the next best thing. The Magic 8 Ball Widget
